The Australian Chamber Orchestra Collective had a busy time when they visited Armidale on 29-30 August. After a fantastic concert the evening before, four ACOC musicians, led by violinist Aiko Goto, presented an intense=ive workshop for over 20 string students at NECOM. After a morning of tutorials and rehearsals, the students gave an inspired performance of Mendelssohn and Grieg to parents and teachers in the NECOM Auditorium.
We received wonderful feedback from the ACO members about the quality and talent of the students from NECOM that they worked with:
“Wow! It’s really high level – everyone. It’s great to see. We’d love to come back.” Aiko Goto, violin
“The workshop went incredibly well because all the musicians were really well prepared. I think there’s some very good teaching going on here in Armidale. Their concentration was really excellent and they really rose to the occasion.” Daniel Yeadon, cello.
