Advanced Ensembles

Yes! NECOM programs will recommence in Term 3 after the long recess due to COVID-19. Rehearsals will commence face-to-face or in the live-via-zoom format during the term under the guidelines of the NSW Dept of Education and NSW Department of Health. In preparation for this return, NECOM has worked diligently to implement extensive health and safety policies for group activities to resume safely as the wellbeing and protection of students, staff and families is paramount.

ARMIDALE YOUTH ORCHESTRA will commence on Tuesday 28 July:
NB: Strings and Percussion will have sectional rehearsals while winds will have external sectional rehearsals to ensure distancing and hygiene requirements. Rehearsals have been shortened to comply with government guidelines to minimise extended contact. Finishing times have been staggered to minimise traffic at the end of rehearsals:

  • AYO       4:00 – 5:15pm

The Armidale Youth Orchestra is a 50 member symphony orchestra for advanced students.
Conductor:                         Paul Marshall
Rehearsals:                         Tuesday’s 4:00 – 6:00pm NB: shortened rehearsal time of 4-5.15pm in Term 3
Entry level:                         Year 7 minimum age
Strings: AMEB Grade 5 or Trinity Grade 6
Winds: AMEB Grade 3/4 or Trinity Grade 4/5
Typical age:                         12 to 20 years
