Chamber Music in Schools

NECOM is launching in Term 2 its popular Chamber Music in Schools Program to schools right across the North West region this year. Schools are invited to host a ‘Chamber Music in Schools’ presentation this year for a Trio of musicians to visit and perform at their school. The program is aimed at students up to Year 7 and is adapted depending on the level of the students.

NECOM believes that all children should have access to quality music education, regardless of where they live or their socioeconomic circumstance. NECOM’s programs provide schools and teachers with resources and professional development opportunities to integrate music into their school’s culture and vision, as well as live performance experiences by NECOM musicians.

The Trio gives a 45-50 minute presentation of live music while the classroom teacher reads an accompanying script. The presentation gives students the opportunity to get up close and personal with professional musicians and their instruments, often their first time coming into contact with classical/orchestra music. The performance can be in a school classroom or a school hall, depending on student numbers. Each school will receive a Resource package which includes lesson plans and video links for teachers to use in their classrooms. Depending on student numbers, the Trio can give 1 to 3 concerts at your school as required.
