Established in 2004, our award-winning Children’s and Youth Choirs Program has a reputation for excellence in choral training for young people and continues to achieve impressive outcomes.
More of our choristers win places in the prestigious Gondwana Choirs National Choral School than from any other regional centre in Australia.
We offer a range of choirs to match a child’s age, social grouping, performance skills and vocal maturity. Entry is open to all young people, there are no competitive auditions.
Every child has a voice, and every child is welcome.
Minisingers is the perfect introduction to music, singing and performance for children in Years K – 2 and is ideal for young children wishing to learn an instrument in the future.
Singing in a fun and friendly environment with others helps every young person develop their confidence, self-esteem, communication and social skills.
There are lots of fun action songs and musical games which develop skills in pitch and rhythm, concentration, co-ordination and memory.
Minisingers rehearsals take place at the Armidale Teachers’ College each Wednesday of the school term, from 4:00 – 4:45pm.
Cantilena Singers is for students in Years 3 – 6, performing more complex unison melodies, 2 and 3-part songs and providing additional performance opportunities as the choristers gain in confidence.
Cantilena rehearsals take place at the Armidale Teachers’ College each Wednesday of the school term, from 4:00pm – 5:00pm.
