NECOM students have had individual lessons since late March but NECOM’s Learning Hub now makes music available to all students.
The new NECOM Learning Hub aims to keep children engaged and actively learning, singing and playing music while they are at home.
Teachers have spent many hours preparing on-line lessons, fun music activities and practical exercises for students that will replace their groups choirs, ensembles, school and early childhood classes until face-to-face classes resume.
The online Learning Hub gives each student the opportunity to actively participate in a variety of lesson activities, pause it if needed, re-watch it, rewind it, or start it over the next day, giving much needed flexibility during this time.
They get to choose when to watch and that’s helpful when the family internet, mobiles and laptops are in constant use.
Content for the Learning Hub will be uploaded on a weekly basis and an email will be sent to parents/students alerting them to the new videos each week. This new learning experience provides online music tutorials, tips such as how to tune your instrument, vocal warmups, interactive games and even fun musical craft sessions.
