New England Festival Float

Hot on the heels of NECOM’s “Grand Champion Float” win in 2018, the Conservatorium again entered a float in this year’s parade, which was changed from the “Autumn Festival” to the “New England Festival”. The theme of this year’s entry was “The Man From Snowy River” to promote the huge concert event being held on 11th October this year. Students from the Armidale Youth Wind Ensemble played two of the main themes from the film’s soundtrack, while young Jade looked like a natural seated atop the horse and waving the Australian flag. NECOM would like to thank John Galletly of Galletly’s Saddlery for the loan of the magnificent fibreglass horse, and for helping organise hay bales and other items. We are also indebted to Johnson & Kennedy for providing us with a magnificent 9-metre long truck / trailer for our 2019 float. If you don’t yet have your tickets for the October event, head to www.necom.org.au/snowy for more information. Tickets are selling incredibly fast (more than 700 already gone!) so don’t miss out.
