Wendy Champion

Whilst studying in Sydney (Flute performance), Wendy was a member of the Sydney Youth Orchestra and the Penrith Symphony. Winner of the David Cubbin Memorial Scholarship to complete a four year Bachelor of Music, Wendy achieved the degree with first class honours. She studied with Dr Danielle Eden, Leonie Khoury and Lamorna Nightingale.

Wendy’s performance degree was completed at the Australian Institute of Music. Whilst there she was inspired to branch out to clarinet and saxophone. Wendy now teaches all three instruments and has taught numerous students from beginner level through to HSC with success. Her students have played with the State Band in performances at the Sydney Opera House and in the West of the Divide Band in Hawaii and Italy.

One of her Inverell students performed in the marching band for the Beijing Olympics Opening Ceremony. Another student was the leader of the State Music Camp Flute Choir in 2018 while another was the second youngest flute player ever at the Junior State Music Camp in Sydney.
