Sydney Symphony Orchestra

Hear the Sydney Symphony Orchestra in Armidale on their 2026 Regional Tour with a concert of music for – and inspired by – dance.

Conductor in Residence Benjamin Northey leads the Orchestra in this program featuring captivating works by Debussy, Stravinsky, Kodály and Sydney’s own Holly Harrison.

Be moved by Stravinsky’s suite from The Firebird, an enchanting folk tale that bursts off the stage in a riot of colour and sound, and by Zoltán Kodály’s energetic Dances of Galánta, which draws from the folk music of Eastern Europe. Holly Harrison’s Hi-Vis recreates the buzz and energy of nighttime roadworks outside her Sydney home, while Debussy conjures a swirling, intoxicating atmosphere in Sacred and Profane Dances, featuring our Principal Harp Louisic Dulbecco.

Don’t miss your only chance to hear the Sydney Symphony in Armidale this year!
