Junior Orchestra Workshop 2018

The New England Conservatorium’s annual Junior Orchestra Workshop gives Yr 3-9 students an intensive two days of invaluable performance experience playing in a large orchestra under the leadership of specialist conductor Ann Phelan, NECOM tutors and guest musicians. For many students it is the first time they have played in a 100-piece orchestra and it will be an inspiring and unforgettable two days of music making.
The Workshop is open to students in Years 3-9 who can read music and have at least 12 months experience playing one of the following instruments:
Strings: violin, viola, cello, double bass
Winds: flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, saxophone
Brass: trumpet, trombone, French horn, tuba
Percussion: please note all places have now been filled for percussion.

The standard fee of $110 covers 2 days’ tuition and morning tea. An Early Bird fee of $100 is available if you make early payment by Fri 8 June.

After 5pm Mon 25 June the late payment amount will be $130. A $0.30 Trybooking fee will apply to each booking.

This rewarding 2-day workshop offers students a rare opportunity to develop their instrumental technique and ensemble skills while having a great time with like-minded musical friends.

When: Wed 4 July 8:45am-3.30pm & Thurs 5 July 9am-3pm
Where: NECOM, Cnr Mossman & Faulkner Sts, Armidale
Fee: $100 Early Bird Discount – pay before 4pm Fri 8 June
OR $110 Standard Fee – pay between 4pm Fri 8-5pm Mon 25 June
OR Late Fee $130 – pay after 5pm Mon 25 June
$0.30 booking fee will apply to all transactions via Trybooking.

Bring: Your instrument, pencil and spare reeds/strings if applicable.
Dress: Warm casual clothes (no uniforms)
Lunch: Students must bring their lunch both days
Conduct: Students must uphold the Code of Conduct (see Enrolment Terms & Conditions on Application Form)

FREE CONCERT
Thurs 5 July 2.30-3pm – all parents welcome

SUPERVISION
NECOM provides supervision of students during course times only. It is the responsibility of parents to ensure the safe and punctual delivery and pickup of their child outside course times.
