Good news! NECOM is pleased to announce that music programs will gradually return to normal operations at the NECOM campus and in schools during the following months.
To ensure the safety and health of the NECOM community of staff, students and parents we have implemented substantial protection strategies and hygiene measures to ensure COVID-19 remains under control and that a possible second wave is avoided at all costs. This will rely on all NECOM community members to:
• Maintain strict hygiene measures at the NECOM campus, in studios and schools
• Enforce physical and social distancing guidelines (remain approx 1.5 meters apart) outlined by the NSW and Commonwealth Governments.

From Monday 25 May NECOM will:
• Phase in face-to-face individual lessons at the campus where physical distancing is implemented
• Phase in face-to-face small group tutorials eg sectional tutorials for ensembles with a limit of 10
• Phase in face-to-face individual lessons and class programs at schools only where permitted and facilitated by the school
• Continue Learning Hub online activities for choral, ensemble and early childhood programs
• Continue online individual lessons to students unable to return to return to face-to-face teaching
From Monday 1 June NECOM will:
• Phase in individual and small group music therapy sessions where physical distancing is implemented
• Plan to open the campus building for easier access by students and parents (TBC by UNE)
• Limit the number of people to 10 in common spaces in the campus building
• Clearly outline movement lines and standing points in common areas in the campus building
• Continue Learning Hub online activities for choral, ensemble and early childhood programs
• Continue online individual lessons to students unable to return to return to face-to-face teaching
