Con Brio ended 2020 with an uplifting concert on the evening of Tuesday 8 December directed by NECOM’s Head of Strings Joanna Fairs-Wu. The players especially enjoyed performing in the auditorium with its excellent acoustics and sense of occasion.
Covid restrictions brought us to this new larger venue when we would normally have performed in our more intimate regular rehearsal space. Family and friends were treated to a program that included works by Telemann, Haydn, Scriabin, Kokai and Bernstein - a varied and challenging choice of repertoire that the players worked hard to perfect. The players even organised their own "secret" sectionals which says so much about their dedication and commitment to community and music.
