NECOM is pleased to announce that group programs for Choirs, Ensembles and Mini Minstrels will resume in Term 3 at the NECOM campus and in schools. NECOM programs will resume under strict guidelines to ensure the health and safety of the NECOM community. In addition small studio concerts, scale parties and mock AMEB exams will held in large spaces on campus to ensure distancing is in place. At this stage ticketed concerts and events must remain on hold.
The return of group ensembles and choral programs in Term 3 is a very welcome addition to the staged return to activities that have already included face-to-face individual lessons, some music therapy sessions and music curriculum classes in schools.

Foundation Ensemble Program starts from Monday 27 July (Wk 2 of Tm 3)

- Thunderbolt Percussion – Thursday 30 July, 4-4.45pm

- New England Singers – Monday 3 August, 4-5pm
- New England Chamber Choir – Monday 3 August, 5-5.30pm
- Minisingers – Wednesday 5 August, 4-4.45pm
- Cantilena – Wednesday 5 August, 4-5pm
- Cantilena Chorale – Wednesday 5 August, 5-5.30pm
NB: Rehearsals will convert to live face-to-face rehearsals at the NECOM Campus from Monday 24 August (TBC)
COVID-19 SAFETY PLANS
NECOM has implemented substantial policies, protection strategies and hygiene measures in line with NSW Dept of Education and NSW Dept of Health, in addition to advice and consultation with specialist organisations including Sydney Children’s Choir, ANCA (Aust National Choral Association) and the Australasian Piano Tuners and Technicians Association. These put measures into place to ensure that our community of staff, students and parents are protected. This relies on the commitment by everyone to read and uphold the following policies and guidelines, particularly in reference to hygiene and distancing:
