Homestead Series 2022 – Emu Creek

October 15, 2022 @ 3:00 pm

$75.00

NECOM’s Heritage Homestead Series offers a rare chance to immerse yourself in a magical combination of fine chamber music and local history. The series opens with an outdoor concert in the beautiful gardens of Emu Creek, just outside Walcha.

On Saturday 15 October the series will kick off with an outdoor performance in the beautiful gardens of 1908 homestead Emu Creek. Eliza Scott (violin), Louisa Sindel-Marshall (clarinet & saxophone), Paul Marshall (clarinet & saxophone) and Warwick Dunham (keyboard) will present an eclectic program ranging from highly energized saxophone duos to a klezmer reimagining of Mendelssohn to a special work Emu Run composed for the occasion.

Emu Creek was established in 1868 by George Robert Gill and over the years became renowned as one of New England’s leading Merino studs, winning several international awards for
its super-fine wool. The present homestead and gardens were established in 1908 and remains in the family six generations later.
