From 5-7 March NECOM hosted a visit from the captivating Junkyard Beats ensemble who travelled from Sydney to present workshops to schools in the NECOM classroom program.
Junkyard Beats transform everyday household items and recycled materials into musical instruments. Their innovative approach to rhythm and percussion brings an exciting and dynamic direction to music education. Students from Ross Hill PS, Newling PS, Kelly’s Plains PS and St. Joseph’s Uralla had the opportunity to explore new avenues of musical creativity through these brilliant workshops.
