Opera Australia returns to Armidale with Puccini’s La Bohème.

Opera Australia returns to Armidale on Thursday 15 August when the New England Conservatorium presents the OA’s new production of Puccini’s La Bohème.

This much-loved opera is the original bohemian love story of Mimi and Rodolfo. Puccini’s score has always captured the soaring spirit of young love, and this new production breathes fresh life into one of the world’s favourite operas. Award-winning director Dean Bryant (Anything Goes, Sweet Charity) brings his trademark wit and vivacity to this new staging. A night not to be missed!

The cast includes principal artists from Opera Australia and a Children’s Chorus of 20 talented choristers from NECOM’s Cantilena Choir and New England Singers. Auditions were held at the beginning of April with the following choristers selected:

Cantilena Singers: Oliver Brodbeck, Sophia Craig, April Ferguson, Zara Haqq, Zara Hobbs, Patrick Jedrej, Shilona Katta, Frankie Merrick, Naomi Miller, Lotem Rotman, Gilli Ziv.

New England Singers: Jiya Aila, Kaitlyn Baker, Edith Clynch, Jacqueline DuBois, Chloe Farrell, Sage Ferdman, Archer Merrick, Rhali Williams.
